The Achankovil river is very beautiful and the route of the river is lined with numerous ancient temples. The river is surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature.

Wikipedia states: “The River Achankovil nurtures numerous Townships on its fertile banks. Among them, Pathanamthitta Town which is the capital of the Pathanamthitta district, derives its very name from its association with the river.”

The Manalar Falls and the Kumbuvurutty Falls, which also has a Nature Interaction Centre are some of the highlights in the area surrounding the Achankovil River.
